Some history
The German Reichstag was originally seated in several buildings in Leipziger Strasse, but these buildings eventually became to small to serve the needs of the Reichstag. The construction of the Reichstag building started in 1884, and the work was completed in 1894.

In 1933 the Reichstag building was set on fire, and the building then seized to serve as the seat of the German Reichstag. During the World War 2 the Reichstag building was subject for additional damages. Not until the period 1961-1964 the building was restored, and the Reichstag building today serves as the set of the German parliament.
