After the fall of the Wall Berlin has once again become one of the most exciting great European cities. The city is back as the main capital in Germany, and during the most recent years there have been massive investments in modernizing and restoring Berlin back to past glory. The capital today appears as a modern city, but with great historical magnitude.

The reunion of East and West has resulted in the development of areas of the city which previously was impossible. Potsdamer Platz which was a part of the death strip, is an example of the total change. Potsdamer Platz is now popular called "The new face of Berlin". Several examples of great modern architecture with tall buildings in different shapes gives the area an urban look.

The Berlin wall, the Brandenburg gate, the Holocaust Memorial, the TV tower, Pariser Platz, Potsdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie are all examples of some of the sights you can visit when you visit Berlin.

I the famous street Unter den Linden you can visit numerous museums. In the German historical museum you can experience German history through pieces of art and old documents. On the museum island Museumsinsel you can visit some of the most important museums in Berlin. On Museumsinsel you can among other pieces of art view an enormous collection of ancient sculptures, Byzantine art and a lot more in the recently opened Bode Museum.
